As part of the installation, an application download page is created on your web server typically http://[yourserver]/filedirector - from here you or your users can download their desktop components in a simple Next Next Next Finish - way.

Enterprise Manager allows distributed administration

It's easy to manage FileDirector with the Enterprise Manager which is designed in a familiar "Outlook" style with all of the components listed on the left in a hierarchical way. 

From here you can edit the permissions, create cabinets, document types and index fields. There is nothing complicated about the administration so at no point will you feel "held to ransom" by your provider or support company.

FileDirector works with Active Directory to distribute rights so you can allow team members to manage parts of FileDirector or you can lock the admin down completely to protect integrity.
